Our Vision

Sovereign Storytelling

Tooth & Nail is part of a movement of homegrown Indigital creatives, futurists, and educators revolutionizing modern media and modern thought. Combining narration, curation, history, ecology, philosophy, and social justice, our work draws from Indigenous knowledge, speculative fiction, climate science, disability justice, and emerging technologies. Imagining more robust, and expansive futures, we collaborate with artists, researchers, community organizations, and technologists to create projects that move fluidly between museums, galleries, festivals, digital media, and virtual platforms.

By learning, teaching, and incorporating cutting-edge technologies into our artistic practice, our goal is to build capacity in and increase public accessibility to digital tools. Hoping to expand the field of multi-nodal creative expression, we refashion contemporary frameworks to align with traditional approaches to art and innovation. Reflecting principles of sustainability, continuity, and pluraliity, we strive to transform conventional art forms and subvert expectations to create works that inspire reflection and connection. Our goal is to curate participatory-yet-personal multi-sensory, experiential journeys that are relational, revelatory, and otherworldly.

We are developing culturally-informed legal, and ethical protocols relating to Indigenous autonomy, land use, resource management, data sovereignty, and collectively-held property  right, both in media production and within the greater society.
